In our shared kitchen you get a professionally cleaned, well organized space to cook and create without the notoriously huge expense of building a commercial kitchen. We can assist you with scheduling and marketing, and can point you in the right direction for licensing and inspection of your new business.

How do I reserve the kitchen or pop up space?
Clients reserve the kitchen in advance. Our online calendar allows you to check kitchen availability and reserve your desired time slots.
What are the minimum hours I can rent the kitchen?
There is no minimuim.
Does the cost cover the use of all equipment and the space?
It covers use of most of our equipment and space. Using certain items, such as the Robot Coupe food processor, requires an additional fee.
Do I need my own small wares and supplies?
No, the kitchen has most of the small wares you’ll need. During your orientation you’ll have the opportunity to see all of them and decide if there’s a specialty item you need to bring with you.
Clients will need to provide their own storage containers, saran wrap, parchment paper, all ingredients including common items like salt, pepper, oils, etc, and single use gloves. Clients may also bring any unique items they need for their own specific use. Forage EC provides a linen service which allows you to use our kitchen towels and aprons. We also provide trash can liners and paper towels. These costs are included in the rental fee.
Can I store my ingredients/products at the kitchen?
Yes. There is no charge for dry storage, cooler or freezer space while working in the kitchen during your reserved time. If you would like to store your products, ingredients or small wares on an on-going basis, there is a $50/month storage fee.
Is there a minimum age for your kitchen?
Anyone seventeen (17) years of age or younger must be under the supervision of an adult at all times.
May I bring my own equipment?
Yes, as long as your equipment is NSF or Commercial-rated and there is available space. We’ll definitely try to accommodate your temporary needs!
Do I need to clean up after using the kitchen?
Yes. Clients are required to properly clean and sanitize the space (including floors, sinks, work tables, stoves, etc.). Clean up time must be completed during your rented hours. A cleaning checklist will be provided when you sign a contract with us and a lack of compliance will result in fees.
How do I get a Food Service Manager’s Certificate?
Complete a Food Service Manager's Certification course from an accredited institution, including online courses. Please contact us or the health department for suggestions
Do I need permits to sell my product?
Our licensed and inspected facility will allow you to legally sell your food product. You may also be required to obtain licensing and permits from the jurisdiction in which you are selling your product. Our facility can become your health department permitted facility and manufacturing location. In addition, you will need a Wisconsin Sales Tax and Use Permit. Information on how to obtain a sales tax and use permit and how to form a business (such as an LLC) is available online. Contact your local jurisdiction for information on licensing and inspections.
