Sushi Class featuring Kitchen Technique

  • 403 South Barstow Street Eau Claire, WI 54701 USA (map)

A sushi class is a culinary adventure that immerses you in the art of Japanese cooking, offering both a deep respect for tradition and the chance to create your own masterpiece. The class begins with an introduction to the cultural significance of sushi in Japan. Then Chef John Bender explains the history of sushi, from its humble origins as a street food to its elevated status in fine dining. You’ll learn about the different types of sushi, such as nigiri, maki, and temaki, as well as the key ingredients used, like vinegared rice, fresh fish, seaweed (nori), and vegetables. I will be providing each student with a sushi mat, wasabi, nori and chopsticks.

Class size is limited, order your tickets here!

Doors open at 5:30 pm, class begins at 6:00. Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
